Mouton’s Catering was established in November of 1978 by Edward and Mary Mouton. After working at a refinery for 20 years and being the Chef for all of his co-workers, Edward Mouton decided to make a career of feeding people. He enjoyed watching his co-workers empty their plates, but he most enjoyed the compliments. 

After leaving the refinery, he and his wife Mary decided to put his talents to the test.  A lot at 3485 Washington Boulevard was purchased and a building which would be used as a commercial kitchen and office was moved on the property; thus, the beginning of Ed Mouton Catering.  With no funds allocated for marketing, he depended on word of mouth to help market the business. He started targeting area refineries, namely his former refinery.  As the word spread, his business increased to accommodate other refinery workers, churches, schools, and much more.  The company’s largest function catered to date is Exxon Mobil (then Mobil Oil) for their annual employee picnic at which we fed over 6,000 guests.   The company became incorporated in January of 1997 and is now known as Mouton’s Catering, Inc.
